Sci Fi Movie Podcast Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless MindThis week on The Sci-Fi Movie Podcast, Rem, Jonathan and Ian are joined by special guest Jason from The Walking Dead ‘Cast as we review “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” from 2014 and directed by Michel Gondry.

A quirky romantic film with a Sci-Fi element written by Charlie Kaufman, who also wrote “Being John Malkovich”. “Eternal Sunshine” tells the story of two people who have both undergone a memory erase process to forget each other. Is the technology enough to keep these two apart or is Love a force stronger than Technology?

The Positive:
Some very strong acting from Jim Carry and Kate Winslet, and a fun and introspective story by Charlie Kaufman. “Eternal Sunshine” is a warm and endearing story with creative cinematography, great sound design and a strong story that explores the value of our memories.

The Negative:
The story line can be a bit complicated on first watch. You might need to watch it a few times to really get the story.

Overall:
Rem, Jason and Ian enjoyed it, Jonathan would rather have a root canal than watch it again.  Watch it with your partner, it’ll make for interesting conversation!
