This week on The Sci-Fi Movie Podcast, Rem, Ian, Jonathan are joined by Bonnie, Tim and Brian to celebrate our 100th Podcast and dig deeper into “Star Wars: Episode 6 – Return of the Jedi” from 1983 and directed by Richard Marquand.
This is the conclusion of the original Star Wars Trilogy where we resolve the relationship between Luke Skywalker and his Father Darth Vader. There is alot of love this this movie, and we try to reconcile whether this is an objectively good movie or if we have nostalgic love for it being a film most of us saw as youngsters.
Brian found that Han Solo seems to lose alot of his manly swagger, Rem didn’t like how C-3PO became even more whiney. What else didn’t work? We all prefer the original movies to the revamped versions. Oh, and Ewoks.
We’ve all concluded that Star Wars – Return of the Jedi is absolutely required Sci-Fi viewing. This is considered to be the weakest of the original Trilogy. Watch 4,5 and 6 with great gusto, and skip episodes 1,2 and 3.
