Sci Fi Move Podcast StargateHosted by Remi Lavictoire, Ian Fults and Jonathan Colbon

This week on The Sci-Fi Movie Podcast, Rem, Jonathan and Ian dig deeper into Stargate from 1994 and directed by Roland Emmerich.

The Positive:
Take a story about ancient Egyptian artifacts, combine it with an Extraterrestrial back story, throw in some Sci-Fi elements and great costumes, and you’ve got Stargate. It’s an interesting and entertaining story, and food for the brain.

The Negative:
We all seemed to agree that Kurt Russell and Jaye Davidson seemed to ‘call in’ their roles.  James Spader was the real stand out.  Rem noticed that Director Roland Emmerich seems to lack skills in pulling strong performances out of his characters.

Overall:
Stargate is a fun and interesting film that speculates about the origins of Humanity.  Rem enjoyed the first half hour the most, and Ian suggests that if you enjoy Stargate, then move on to the TV series Stargate SG-1.
