Sci Fi Movie Podcast Tank GirlThis week on The Sci-Fi Movie Podcast, Rem, Jonathan and Ian are joined by Jaime to dig deeper into Tank Girl from 1995 and directed by Rachel Talalay.

The Positive:
This is a film that’s pure fun! Lori Petty’s performance as ‘Tank Girl’ is spot on and she totally commits to the role and the story. It’s a story that shouldn’t be take seriously, and simply enjoyed. It’s certainly not for kids, but it’s campy adult humor that any grownup can enjoy.  The target audience here would be the 18+ woman.

The Negative:
It was a box office bomb, and didn’t fully represent the vision of the Tank Girl creators. The males in the story were either evil, Hybrid Kangaroo’s or killed off.  Most guys probably won’t enjoy it.  Jonathan found Lori Petty’s voice to be really irritating.

Overall:
It’s a fun story to watch, but it’s recommended for an 18+ audience, and that includes the comic itself.
